Business Analyst

Overview
This opportunity is for a full-time, fully remote Business Analyst supporting a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) project. The role focuses on gathering and analyzing business requirements, translating stakeholder needs, and supporting Agile software development efforts.
You will work closely with developers, testers, product owners, and stakeholders to document user stories, support sprint planning and UAT activities, analyze business processes, and help deliver high-quality software solutions.

Annual Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 per year
What You’ll Do
- Develop detailed user stories and acceptance criteria by working with stakeholders to gather and refine requirements.
- Manage and prioritize the product backlog in partnership with business stakeholders to align work with business goals.
- Support sprint planning by helping define and prioritize tasks that deliver incremental value.
- Maintain ongoing communication with stakeholders to share project updates and collect feedback.
- Analyze business processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with the development team to design software solutions that effectively address business needs.
- Oversee testing and validation activities to ensure solutions meet defined requirements and quality standards.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation to support development, deployment, and maintenance.
- Promote continuous improvement by identifying process enhancements and applying Agile best practices.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and help ensure delivered solutions meet stakeholder expectations.
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and project success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a technical discipline, or another relevant discipline is required.
- Minimum of 8 years of professional analyst experience.
- Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst in Agile environments.
- Experience working within the SAFe framework using JIRA.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex business challenges and recommend effective solutions.
- Proficiency with software development processes, including requirements gathering, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and interact effectively with stakeholders, team members, developers, testers, and product owners.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience with SAFe or Agile methodologies.
- SAFe, Agile, or Scrum certification is preferred.
- Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or other government agencies is preferred.
- Ability to obtain government clearance.
